Who runs this contest
- The Know Your Vote Quiz Contest is run by its organising team, which decides how your data is used and is responsible for it.
What we collect
- From every student: name, optional display name, mobile number, email, date of birth, state, district, the name of your school or college, class or course, and language.
- For students under 18: a record of their confirmation that a parent or guardian has agreed.
- While you take a paper: your answers, when you gave them, how long the paper took, how often you left the quiz screen, and a fingerprint of your device used only to detect many accounts taking papers from one phone.
- From voucher and prize winners only: a photograph of their student identity card, and for prize winners whatever tax law requires to pay the prize.
How it is used
- Only to run this contest: to let you log in and take your papers, score and rank them, decide and deliver vouchers and prizes, issue e-certificates, and send messages about the contest.
- Results are published by participant code, not by name. If you win 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize, your name and institution may be announced. Your mobile number, email and date of birth are never shown publicly.
- Only the members of the organising team who run the contest can see your details. No behavioural tracking or targeted advertising is directed at anyone, and your data is not sold.
- Service providers process it on our behalf for hosting, the database, and delivering emails and text messages.
How long it is kept
- After the contest, personal details are deleted or anonymised. Scores are kept without names as a record of how rewards were decided.
- For prize winners, what tax and accounts law requires is kept for the period it requires, then deleted.
Your rights
- You can ask to see or correct your details, or to have them erased. Withdrawing consent ends your participation in the contest.
- For any request or complaint, contact the organising team.
